Honor a special individual who battled or is battling breast cancer
Every year the Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure® pays special tribute to a breast cancer survivor and an inspirational individual who lost their life to breast cancer. The “In Celebration Of” and “In Memory Of” tributes are a way for Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio to recognize an inspirational breast cancer survivor and an inspirational individual who lost their battle to breast cancer in our service area.
These nominees are ordinary people who turned their breast cancer diagnosis into something positive.
One “In Celebration Of” and one “In Memory Of” individual will be chosen for our Toledo event and another two for our Findlay Event.
Nominate Now! Deadline is Sunday, March 31, 2019.
Nominees for the Toledo Event should be from one of the following counties: Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Sandusky, Williams, and Wood in Ohio and Monroe County, Michigan.
Nominees for the Findlay Event should be from one of the following counties: Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Hancock, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Putnam, Seneca, Shelby, Van Wert, and Wyandot.
Recognition will be given throughout Race promotion, including Survivor Breakfast, Pink in the Park at Fifth Third Field, and at the Survivor Ceremony on Race Day.
The Komen Race for the Cure® committee will select the honoree in early May. Nominations must be completed by Sunday, March 31, 2019.
Please note: the honoree is selected by an independent panel based on quality of the information submitted rather than the quantity of nominations received.
